Our Story
In 2012 I started making my own jigs and plastics after not being able to find quality product. I set out to master everything from pouring and painting the jig head, to hand tying and injecting plastics. In 2014, Thump Huntin' Jigs, LLC was formed but was shortly lived due to life but I continued to make jigs for personal use. Fast forward to 2024, I began to offer my creations to the public again.
I offer a custom jig head design that you won't find anywhere else. This jig head has a unique tapered design that starts out wide at the eye of the hook and narrows towards the bottom of the head along with a recessed eye. This design reduces the width the head which allows for a bigger side profile for bigger eyes. This jig head is currently offered in 1/24oz w/ 5mm eye (.05oz finished), 1/16oz w/ 6mm eye (.07oz finished) and 1/8oz w/ 7mm eye (.13oz finished).
Every jig head:
- Poured with a 96% lead 4% antimony mix to give you a harder head that won't dent/ding as much, wiggle loose on the hook or have the bait keeper loosen like you'll get when using a pure soft lead.
- Is poured with one of the best hooks on the market, a Mustad Ultra Point (32746) black chrome hook. This hook is strong but bendable, sharp and has a slightly longer shank that pushes the hook point further back from the jig head than other hooks on the market.
- Powder paint is baked at 350 degrees for 30 minutes to give you the strongest finish possible. No paint chipping off after a few fish caught.
- Eyes are 2 part epoxied on so that you won't lose an eye after so many fish caught.
- All of our hand ties are carefully crafted and tied with tension. Each one receives a total of 12 full wraps of thread back and forth on the hook to lock down all materials tied on.
In making my jig heads and hand ties in this fashion, this goes above and beyond what most do but I want your one jig to catch you hundreds of fish!
